I will be having a solo show in Healdsburg, CA. at Gallery Lulo.
http://www.gallerylulo.com/calendar.aspx
I will be there for the opening reception Friday, 4/02/2010 6-8pm. On view will be two glass sculpture installations, as well as jewelry.
The Museum of Art and Design, New York recently commissioned me to make a Valentines Day pin for former secretary of state, Madeleine Albright. There was a show at M.A.D. that just closed, displaying her amazing jewelry collection. Included in the exhibition was a heart shaped pin that one of Albright’s daughter’s made for her years ago. She always wears this pin on Valentines day. Since the show is traveling, M.A.D. thought it would be a nice gesture to give her another heart shaped pin to wear, while the show is on view.
Madeleine Albright’s book “Read My Pins” speaks about how she used her pins as a way to express her moods, and as a “diplomatic tool”.
This was a fun little project. I am honored to be in Madeleine Albright’s jewelry collection.
Project No.8a asked me to make a necklace for their opening at ACE hotel NYC this weekend. There is a limited edition gift bag Project No.8 and Opening Ceremony are handing out to a very lucky select few.
Check it out on the ACE Hotel Blog.
I stopped by the new Project No8a at ACE yesterday. There is an AMAZING vivid green modern shelving unit, that was designed in the 70’s for the Pompidou in Paris. There was also a hand carved wood clothing rack, that looks like a metal rolling rack. It was quite beautiful! A sculptural object in itself. Elizabeth and Brian of Project No.8 are always pushing their vision beyond the limits. I have a-lot of respect for them.
I can’t wait to congratulate Elizabeth and Brian at the big opening party tonight!
